village idiot on install

  • Here is the deal, I had a canceled domain.com I then turned around and installed WP for new domain name. downloaded alright it seemed. when got the email saying its active and click on the links. the

    Admin Area: https://blahblah.com/wordpress/wp-admin when I do keep saying page not found. the same with the link

    https://dohdaa.com/wordpress/ and each comes up with same no page found. cant figure out and went thru all I can see, plus uninstalled and reinstalled.

    I truly am not very bright or technical and don’t see what the deal can be. WP installed and worked fine right off the bat. with first domain name I had.

    Search all thru the forums to get a clue but now give up and maybe just the whole thing.

    with hostgator all this time and like said cant figure what the deal is. at first maybe took a hour or so for it to kick in or whatever. If there is something easy I’ll try anything but the technical stuff is over my head.

    Help a brother out?? ??

    Oh, next week getting a new pc so I should download WP on it with no problem being there wont be any screw ups till later.

    Right, so you have a hosting account for the domain glannster.com, but the domain has never been registered.

    You need to register the domain through a domain registrar. Your hosting provider can probably help you with that, or you could try any of the other registrars out there.

    If a domain is not registered, it doesn’t exist. You need to register it with a domain registrar.

    i’ll see, that was all cool as in billing page I made the payment and it said ‘active’ that why ddidnnt look around any more./ oh where is that reregister for HG?

    hmmm, after near hr they reply, they said because I had not purchased the glannster.com.. don’t even remember buying the afriendnear.com will have to check some things out,. think I got myself in a hassle either way,. not sure if wanna fool with it,. gotta go thru my records on email and see..

    When you signed up for a HG Hosting account, you are asked:

    “Getting started is easy! Just enter your domain below and we’ll tell you if it’s available to use. If you already own it, we can help move your domain to HostGator.com.”

    There are two choices, with the first one set by default:

    1. “Register a new domain.”
    2. “I already own this domain.”

    Below this is the following with an entry box:

    “Enter your domain here:”

    By the sound of your posts, you selected option 2 and entered glannster.com , perhaps believing you already “owned” the domain.

    This is how you would end up with your hosting account being set up to be associated with that domain name. However, as others have posted, and as I have also checked (via the WHOIS database), that domain name has never been registered (purchased) and is still available.

    To move forward, the easiest thing for you to do is to log into your HG cPanel and then click the Domain Management icon in the HostGator Links section. This will take you to a screen where you can purchase (register) this domain. Follow the instructions and it will end up being tied to your hosting account. Keep in mind that after doing so, it can take up to 48 hours for the newly purchased (registered) domain to become effective.

    told you I was a idiot,. I cant find anything in my saved emails on buying afriendnear.com.. no where,. even checked paypal and no charges put on it except HG. guess if I wanted is to cancel my cancelation on that one. and see if I can get my money back for paying for glannster.com even tho I choose to quickly on first one,.
