I have a blog where visitors arrive at one post (for example via Google). This means one view. However, they can also end up on a page with seven posts on one page. How are these counted? Does the count of views take into account the scrolling behavior of the visitor?

Does the count of views also include the internal linka which are used by the visitor to see another post?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Willem,

Thanks for getting in touch about this.

Each time a page is loaded, this counts as a single view, regardless of what links are on the page. For instance, if someone visits this page on your site, that will count as one view. If they click on one of the posts there, a second view will be counted when that post loads. In this way, if someone visits five different pages, that will be counted as five views. The scrolling behavior is not accounted for in this metric.

I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any further questions!

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for your response.

I installed a plugin that uses the scrolling behavior in the results. I will let you know when that causes different counts.

I installed Burst statistics which uses visitors’ scrolling behavior. Independent statistics is much better in every way. Burst Statistics’ popularity is likely due to its integration with their cookie plugin.

Thank you for your plugin and your response.
