    Hello EBD

    I’ve installed the following plugins:

    Contact Form 7 – 4.5.1
    Download Monitor – 1.9.5
    Email Before Download – 3.4.2

I successfully linked the three plugins together.

I have configured EBD to have a delivery format of “Send Email”

However when I click the link contained in the email to download my PDF, Google Chrome just hangs.

    See Screenshot: https://snag.gy/Fb4A01.jpg

If I turn off the “Hide/Mask Real Link” option, the PDF automatically downloads rather than opening in a new tab of Chrome. This is not my preferred solution.

Is there anyway to fix this?

    Cheers

  • There is no known way to fix it at this point. The only workaround is what you did. The bug has something to do with the way Chrome interacts with certain PDFs or on certain people’s websites (meaning a php or apache config option may have something to do with it). I believe it has something to do with the Accept-Range: bytes functionality (partial download of content) and the way Chrome requests and caches content. It’s unclear if the bug is actually within Chrome, or if Firefox and IE just handle the situation better and the bug lies elsewhere. In the past though, Chrome has had similar bugs like https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=104331

    Thanks for replying so quickly.

OK well then we will have to make do with what we’ve got.

    Thank you.
