    Hello,

The site I am working on uses a static home page but also uses a blog. I’d like to know how to access the blog feed via a link in the main navigation bar, I just need the URL of the feed please.

    web site reference:
    https://www.xceoninc.com

    3.5.1
    twentyeleven w/child theme

    thanks!

thanks, but I want the feed displayed in the custom template I have created please, I should have been more specific.

Sorry? RSS feeds do not use template files. In fact, they’re not even supposed to be viewed via a web browser but via proper feed reader software.

Allow me to rephrase the original question. Before I changed the site to use a static page, the first thing the user saw was a feed of the recent blog posts (or whatever you want to call it instead of a feed, IDK, a stream, chronological list etc) I want to be able to link to that stream of blog posts via a link in the main navigation bar. I need the URL so I can add it to the menu as a custom link. I need to have the home page be a static page so that the header graphics link to it.

the first thing the user saw was a feed of the recent blog posts

Ah! That’s not a “feed” (which has a very specific and different meaning in WordPress). That’s just your main posts page.

When you set up the static page via Settings -> Reading, you should also have configured your main posts page, yes? So that’s the page you need to use in your menu. Is this a custom menu?

^ Also the blog posts must appear in the custom template I created. I have a workaround, by assigning all the posts to the category “all” but I prefer that the “category archive all” text not appear. thanks.

I did not do that at the time I set it up, but I did that and added it to my custom menu and it worked perfectly, thanks for clearing up my lack of understanding!
