WP 2.9.2: Is there a way in wp-admin for us non-coders to see all of the users in one view? It’s easy to see all my pages in one view…thought it would be similar for users. I need to bulk update the roles of most of my users.

More specifically, we’ve integrated WP, bbPress, and Salesforce. We have 83,000 users. When imported, all had (no role). We were easily able to find and assign roles to admins, authors, contributors. However, that left 82,985 other users who just need to be “subscriber” role. I can go through 50 users at a time, which is all that WP lets you view in one screen, but I’ll be quite old when I finish, and it seems to me there has to be a simple way to view all users in one view. Might take a while to load them all, and even longer to assign them all to a role, but far, far easier than one page of 50 at a time.

    Help?

Seems like what you are asking for is a “Quick Edit” link so that you don’t have to leave the page (or something like the Simple User Admin plugin for MU).

BTW a “cheap trick” for not leaving the page is to right-click the link and choose to open it in a new tab. I know that’s not really what you are asking for but it saves you from having to reload the users page after updating a user. You can just close the new tab.

This plugin might allow you to change the role and then import the new changes.

Thanks for these. I’ll give them a shot. What I’m trying to do is show all users, so I can “select all” and “Change role to” “subscriber”, because at the moment all our users are “role=none” so they cannot login and post to the forums (bbPress).

Of course, I’m also banking here that the bbPress/WP Integration plugin actually does it’s job of cross assigning roles that I have setup, but I just found on the bbPress forums that I will be very disappointed, and may have to find a similar plugin for bbPress. Grrr.

OK, it would seem to me the FAR easier way would be to have a way to simply view all in one page. For example, something like a button to click to view all or even something like /wp-admin/users.php?view=all … Really this should be the case for posts, pages, etc.
