videos sometimes ‘not available’ until reload of the page

  • Hi,

    I have embedded 3 youtube videos with autoplay on this sites homepage. But now and then (for some users more often than others) 1, 2 or all 3 videos will show ‘This video is not available’. If you reload the page the videos will be available.
    Is this something that can be resolved? Do you know if it has anything to do with either your plugin, a youtube setting, a caching problem, or if it is on the side of the visitor? Any help would be appreciated, because the homepage looks a bit sad with just 3 black blocks…

    Hi, we can’t replicate this. Out of curiosity, are you able to deactivate your cookie plugin on that particular page?

    Hi, thanks for getting back to me. The problem with this issue is that it is not consistent, it only sometimes happens, so it is hard to test & troubleshoot.
    For instance: today one of the videos said it was not available, but the moment I log in (to test if turning off the cookie banner would help) and check the home again (before turning the cookie banner off) the video is playing again…
    So I would never know if turning the cookiebanner off would fix it, unless I test it for instance for a month or so.
    I would rather not disable the cookiebanner on the home page that long, since youtube is the main reason for a cookiebanner on this site in the first place…
    I understand this makes it very very hard for you to help in any way.

    I think I will make a test page, see if I can turn off the cookie banner for that page and see what happens there…

    Okay, the test page with cookie banner turned off had the same issue today unfortunately. So looks like the cookiebanner is not the issue.

    Everytime the videos that say the are not available will play after reload of the page though
