videos freezing

  • Running WordPress 3.8.3
    Site was working fine. Suddenly the videos on my main page stopped loading smoothly playing, or freeze partway through. They had started instantly and played smoothly for months.
    On other page in the site video plays normal.

  • Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

    I’ll upgrade right away. Shouldn’t WordPress send out warnings to upgrade?

    Theme: Modularity Lite
    Are there problems fto be anticipated from upgrading WordPress and/or the Theme?

    It does. They are displayed in the admin area of your site.

    Is 3.9.1 safe and compatible with my current site?

    That theme has not been updated in almost 4 years, may not longer be supported by its developer or be compatible with current/future versions of WordPress. I would strongly recommend that you switch to a more recent theme asap.

    okay, I need to keep the site working
    The original designer is not available.
    How do I preserve the design within the theme without having to redesign the site when I upgrade it

    The design should be preserved but we cannot guarantee that the theme will work predictably with the current version of WordPress as the theme is so old.
