    How can I show videos in my theme without using plugin?

    I would like to show videos or link to youtube without have to install a plugin. Is it possible?

  • Just use the YouTube “<embed>” code.
    It is shown on every YouTube page when you click the “<embed>“-button just below the video.

    Thanks.. with <embed> ok.. but I would like something as shortcode or a function in functions.php

    The Idea is that:

    I will define an area in my theme where the video will be shown. I would like to easily (for example) copy and paste a youtube link in a post and the video would be shown in my predefined area.
