Video Thumbnails on Child Pages

  • I’m new to wordpress and need help customizing another plugin using the advanced functions.

    I’d like to replace get_the_post_thumbnail with get_video_thumbnail on the CC Child Pages plugin so that I can have a page with a grid of video thumbnails that direct to the page the video is embedded in.

    When I replace get_the_post_thumbnail with get_video_thumbnail, the image URLs show where I want the images to be. What am I missing?

  • You may need to go into the Settings -> Video Thumbnails menu and make sure that Pages is ticked.

    I have made a small change to my CC Child Pages plugin so that it will request a video thumbnail if the Video Thumbnails plugin is also installed. This seems to successfully generate the thumbnail even if Pages are un-ticked in the settings …
