Video thumbnails not compatible with theme

  • Hello so I was trying to figure out why my video thumbnails werent showing up on my blog posts page when I set the posts to video format. When the posts are set to standard format, the thumbnails do in fact show up. I really would like the thumbnails to work for my posts in video format.
    I saw this on my themes forum:

    “Hi, we installed the ‘Video Thumbnails’ plugin and that resolved everything

    We just had to make sure the plugin knew to look in the _x_video_embed field for the video embed tag.
    So we’re all set now, thanks.”

    It sounds like that’s my problem… Can I please get some help with making sure the plugin knows to look in my themes field

  • Do you paste the video URL in the main body of a post when using the “video format” or do you paste it in a separate field.

    If a separate (custom) field:

    In Video Thumbnails’ settings find the section called “Custom Field (optional)” and click “Automatically detect” and the plugin will hopefully find the name custom field you are using. Press Save changes and try a new post.

    If this doesn’t work, ask your theme developer the name of the custom field your theme uses for video URLs and paste that name into the box where it says “Custom Field (optional)”. Press save changes and try again.
