Since the recent update, the first slide in our rotation which happens to be a Youtube video only plays for a few seconds then moves to the next slide. However, after all the slides have rotated through, on the second showing of the video slide it plays in its entirety.

Before the update the first slide, the video slide, played all the way through before advancing to the next slide.

I messed with the settings but could not get this to cooperate. I did change the slide’s duration to the full length of the video (65 seconds) but what happens is when it displays the 2nd time it’s just blank with a play button. So I changed the duration back to 8 seconds (which was the figure in there by default) and now we’re back to what I described above.

The video plays for a few seconds, then rotates through all the other slides then returns to the video and starts where it was originally cut off.

Hi @simco

When the video can’t start during the second/third etc times the slide plays, that usually happens because the reset video on slide change is turned off and the loop is disabled: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/199-video-layer
so I suggest trying to turn on both to see if it helps.

Ramona, thanks for the quick reply. To clarify, it’s not that the video won’t start in the 2nd/3rd loops. It’s that it gets cut off a few seconds into the video during the first loop. Then, in the 2nd loop, it starts at the point where it was cut off during it’s first showing.

So, 1st loop: it displays 8 seconds
2nd loop: it starts at the 0:09 seconds mark

I’ll use the contact link if you can’t supply the fix for this based on this clarified info.

Hi @simco!

The “reset on slide change” option makes your videos to go back to the 0th second if the slide is switched away, then back:

Without that option the video will work as you described, it will continue where you left off.
