    Hey guys,

    I think this addon needs a major update regarding video progression.

    There is a special reason for this, we notice that among our students those with the best grades, attendance rates up to 75% and 90%.

    Being that those who continue studying after a few years are within the 75%.

    Why don’t they watch classes until the end? There’s a reason for this, classes usually end with a hint of what the next class will be about.

    In fact, many videos from different courses use this approach, or spoil the next class, or mention previous classes.

    So what I would like to suggest, is to add a feature in the shortcode so that the percentage watched of the video can be chosen.

    In our case 75% would be perfect.

    I don’t know the amount of effort this involves, however if it’s simple to change this differently in the code to work with 75% instead of 100% it would already help me, someone of the development type could point me to where this is within the code ?

    And if it’s useful for you, I have a way to monitor the progress of a vimeo video through google tag manager and I can share the procedure to see if the concept can be added to the addon.

    At GamiPress we also have integration with the Presto Player plugin with which you can use Vimeo videos. With this integration you can create requirements taking into account the percentage of visualization.

    Prestoplayer is not a good option because it doesn’t have the feature to show thumbnails of videos on the timeline. This is very, very important for UX. I already spoke with their support and there is no forecast to add.

    Dionísio, could you talk to a developer who knows the vímeo addon code so he can read my message here on the forum and give me a report on my questions?

    I am one of the developers of GamiPress. Thank you for your suggestion. Due to the characteristics of the Vimeo API, the event to obtain the percentage could not be implemented, due to this, I recommend Presto Player to be able to use this event, although in your case it is not viable due to the characteristics of your site. Our integration relies solely on Vimeo, so adding other third-party features could cause non-Vimeo issues.

    If I have an event that knows what the progress of Vimeo is, it can be added to it. Would you like to receive the javascript code to see how it is working and add this resource to your plugin?

    As a voice you can let your user choose how much % should be reproduced to score.

    I can send the javascript code for you Dionisio, it works both in the free version and in the paid version of Vimeo.
