Video overlay with Autoplay causes two videos to play

When using the autopay mode with video overlay I am finding that multiple videos play at the same time.
First, the video presented in the overlay plays, but you hear another video playing just a bit out of sync with the first. This video can be found in source (multiple iframes created) but is set to display:none;
Exiting the overlay mode stops one video from playing, however the hidden video continues to play. The only way I could stop it was to reveal it using inspector, then from there stop the playback.
Any ideas on why this may be the case for this setting?
