Same issue again with a different video uploaded in 720×720 and the optimizer activates although it should not right?

Check two screenshots in drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1q22EYa_jyS41DnaScltZhHfQLOYjUHXm?usp=sharing

    Thanks for reporting this.

Looks like the check also flags videos with exact dimensions of 720×1280, even though it should only flag videos exceeding it (e.g. 721×1280). So it’s doing a “>=” comparison instead of just “>”.

    We’ll get this fixed.

However, I was unable to reproduce the issue with the same https://nonfungibleownership.com/wp-content/uploads/Axie-land-market.mp4 720×720 video you were using.

In the meantime, feel free to ignore the video optimization check when you are already using videos that you have optimized locally on your computer.

Thank you! Please notify me once the issues are fixed.

My guess is you were not able to reproduce due to the video there being the optimized one already.

If you could upload the original video to Google Drive so we could test with that, it would help us rule out that possibility.

    Added to the drive!

Tried a different 1280×1280 video and the same result with the optimization activating.

    Thank you!

Same result here with that video.

To clarify, did you first upload the video to the WP media library or did you upload it directly into the editor, e.g. by drag & drop?

Right now, because of technical limitations the editor automatically optimizes all videos being uploaded via drag & drop, regardless of dimensions. And while that optimization is in progress, the checklist message will be displayed for it.

So if that’s the case for you, first uploading to the WP media library could be a workaround.

Tried a different 1280×1280 video and the same result with the optimization activating.

That is expected, as it exceeds the recommended maximum dimensions.

That will be the issue then, I added it every time via drag & drop.

    Thank you for clarification!
