    Hello,

First off I’m really liking your plugin compared to the other video background plugins. It’s great. I was wondering if you’ve looked into the delay when the page first loads? When I open up my homepage you can see the background that runs throughout my site and then the video comes in about 1 sec later. Is there a way to get it to load at the same time or is this a limitation with the plugin? Once again, great plugin and thanks for your time.

    Hi,
That delay is the time Youtube takes to buffer the video… there’s no way to remove it. Sorry

Have you thought about adding another option for people to upload an mp4 or webm file instead and use that as their background?

@zdavis: This component is using the Youtube API to control videos and that are not compatible with a self hosted video embed javascript API. I’m also not implementing the control for a self hosted video because if you’ve a long-play on your server the buffering time would be really unfriendly as no one of the common web servers implements at all or a good enough media stream server (except for Amazon S3, but you need good skills to set up it). This would cause unpredictable problems that, for the most of the user, would be attributed to me. Using Youtube I’m guarantied that they serve the correct video format with the correct bandwidth depending on the client browser, OS, internet access speed and so on.

    bye,
    Matteo
