Video links not getting rel="lightbox" in widgets

RL is successfully automatically adding ‘rel=”lightbox”‘ when I put a valid link (YouTube or Vimeo URL) in the body of a page.
However, that did not happen when I added the very same links to widgets. In one case, the link was in a text widget in the Subfooter Left area of Outreach Pro (Genesis child theme). The second case was a text widget in the standard Primary Sidebar area.
By manually adding ‘rel=”lightbox”‘ to the links in the sidebar, I got RL to work as expected.
Should RL be adding the ‘rel=”lightbox”‘ in widgets automatically? Is there something I need to do or look into to make that happen?
Clearly, this isn’t a deal killer. I can manually add ‘rel=”lightbox”‘. But that’s an extra step I’d rather not burden my HTML-challenged clients with, if you know what I mean. ??
