It was a lot of work to get a more this type of style going using wordpress. But I’m pretty happy with it. I’m a little scared to try an upgrade to 1.5, but I’ll probably try that out sometime in the future.

nicely done – there’s a couple of things i’m curious about:

1) that rollover effect where you have the image of the item at the top – how were you able to achieve that?

2) in the middle column, are those just excerpts? Or displayed using the more tag? I’m trying to get my posts to display with the image next to it.

I think it’s a very good modification, and nice to see WP used for something else, it certainly adds variety to it.

The rollover effect is just a javascript that I wrote. I just added the php to fill in the correct names and info and the reference to the image. If you view the source you can check out what I’ve done. I need to improve the function however, since it was my first real use of javascript.

I actually use the custom field in the wordpress post to add the subtitles in the middle column. The custom fields allow me to also have the large and small picture relate to a specific article.
