• Hi all,

I’m new to wordpress and have been doing a lot of reading about plugins.

I’m working on a band website and I essentially need to create two content sections on the index.php page – a ‘box’ where the latest post appears, and a flash video gallery which automatically loads the latest video but also gives users the option of selecting from any of the other video thumbnails (linked to a youtube account).

I’ve worked out how to add in the various elements, but I can’t find a video gallery plugin that allows me to keep all video media in one spot; this section of the site needs to be able to handle about 20 videos.

Does anyone know of a plugin that could handle this job? All the ones I’ve seen seem to just allow a single video to be embedded in a post…

    Thanks in advance!!

    Gen.

    anyone??

I just want to second this request; there are a lot of image galleries available, but where is oh where is the video gallery?

Or how would one go about adapting something like, let’s say, NextGEN Gallery to displaying vidoes when a user clicks on a nice and pretty thumbnail?

I suspect I will get nowhere, and I think that Shadowbox is a great alternative, but if the user is waiting for flv or quicktime to load then it’s not so cool.

    Any wisdom and learnings appreciated

Yes, for me it is also a very important question. I can not find any plugins or themes that will be suitable for video gallery.

If somebody can help, i will be very appreciate.

    mickeyziggyk, I agree completely.
All I need is a nice sortable gallery plugin with thumbnails that link directly to videos I’m hosting myself. Searching high and low, can’t find one.

Not a plugin but if you don’t mind messing with the html you can use video lightbox, free program which you download from their website. Generates the gallery for you, then you need to put code in the header and in the body of a page. Have not yet tried to put it in an actual post. So far I have tried just about every plugin offered, ie tubepress, videogall, simple youtube gallery, longtail video gallery, etc.
