  • Hi,
I was using the plugin in a similar manner and it was working, however I have just upgraded WordPress to 3.6 and the video doesn’t play anymore, there is just a spinner…if the developer could offer some advice that would be great.

I think in 3.6 the do_shortcode has changed somehow, so maybe that’s affecting it?

I also have this plugin working successfully on another site running 3.6, but its embedded in the visual editor on the page using the regular [shortcode].

    Thanks

@whatachamp – Something definitely changed. I’m currently testing WP 3.6, so I haven’t officially upgraded yet.

The do_shortcode codex page hasn’t changed, so I’d say that the do_shortcode function is still working as it should.

    Developer? Help! ??

at last a chance for me to help somebody – if you havent cracked it already.

Recently upgraded to 3.6 myself and had the same problem, it’s not 3.6 that’s the problem it’s your installation.

If you go to plugins and deactivate any other video related plugins then it should begin to work. If it doesn’t then go back and delete the said plugins – apparently even when deactivated they can still clash and stop other plugins working. and if that doesnt work then you have to go back and deavtivate all plugins and then switch them back on one at a time until you find the conflict.

I read this on a post somewhere else and it worked a charm. lucky for me i found it pretty quick and hope you do too.

    Good luck!

I upgraded to 3.6, and started using the new native [video] shortcode. It works! I’m going to now remove one more (this) plugin from my site! Thanks WordPress!! You rock!

I forgot about this problem for a while. I’ve just been playing around with it and by simply deactivating and reactivating the plugin I got the vide working again. Simple as that…sigh!
    At least its fixed now.

but [video] don′t support subtitles. or?

Have you tried adding this to your .htaccess file?

    AddType video/mp4 .mp4 .m4v
    AddType video/webm .webm
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType audio/ogg .ogg

And, as mentioned earlier, make sure any other video plugins are disabled. I have tested and the plugin does work fine in WordPress 3.6 to replace the new video shortcode.

Once again my do_shortcode video completely stopped working after the most recent upgrade. Video wasn’t showing, just the controls – and they weren’t responsive. Disabling/re-enabling the plugin didn’t work this time – I had to roll back to an older version of the plugin.

On another site I have the plugin being used witin regular shortcodes and that’s working fine.
