    Hi

I embedded a video over your plugin and since a couple of days i receive the message “The video cannot be shown at the moment. Please try again later.” in my post.

But when i search for the video-id in youtube directly it shows up.

    What could this be?
And no, i haven’t changed anything with the config of my page.

    Thanks

It may show up on YouTube but a video owners can prevent a video from being embedded. If you can provide an example YouTube URL then I can check this for you.

    David.

I’m having the same issue on my site and it’s from a video that I posted myself, so it’s not a permission issue. Please help.

Can you point me to the video that doesn’t work?

    David.

Sure thing, and thanks for the quick response.

Every video displays the same message

I realize that I probably confused you before because I have embedded HTML5 videos on my homepage. Those are different. All of the YouTube embedded videos are the ones that aren’t working.

Hiere is the video which worked until a couple of days.

It cannot be a permission issue as another youtube-plug which i tried for testing can show it.

We have this same exact issue on all videos on our blog.

    Example:

    https://www.musikkbloggen.no/2015/05/fredagsvideo-daniel-romano-the-one-that-got-away-came-back-today/

These all worked two days ago. Yesterday they all ceased to work – and this goes for all videos being used posted this plugin…

I took a suggestion from an earlier thread and turned off API in the settings, and it now shows all video.
But as mentioned, this worked two days ago, and have been working without a hitch for over a year – so something is fishy.

Thanks Rune. Yours and Kalerunner’s videos appear to be working now. I’ve not updated the plugin during this time so it would suggest it’s something YouTube’s side, probably around the API serivce. I’d therefore recommend turning off the API option until further notice.

kjoussen – can you provide me with a link where it’s embedded on a site page?

    David.

I followed Runes hint and switched off the API and now everything is working again. But strange anyway….

Unfortunately i cannot give you access, as my site is purely private and i cannot give you access to this page or post without screwing up my whole access-group-setting.

However, as long as it is working again, i’m fine.

No worries, glad it worked. It may be that the API protocols have changed or have simply stopped working. The issues that API causes override the advantage of it so I may simply remove it in a future update.

    David.

If you need to see this in action and test, I can turn on API again for a short period of time. Contact me at my emailadress (nick) to set it up.

Same problem here, turning off API solves it.

I’ve had a look and it would appear the Google have turned off version 2 of their API, which this plugin uses. I’d therefore recommend that everyone switches this option off until I can send out a new release of the plugin.

I’ve just pushed out version 3.3.1 which switched off the API. Probably doesn’t help you all now as I think you’ve done that, but should hopefully assist those who are now having issues.

Apologies for this, as I say Google has pulled the older API away. I’m going to review whether it’s needed or not for the next release.

    David.
