Video with Lightbox ON: In pageflow shows only box in overlay color but no video
-
Reproduction:
- Insert a Greenshift video block.
- The video is shown correctly and with its native aspect ratio (since 6.6.2). The default initial options are: Player Controls ON, all other options OFF.
- Activate option ?? Enable Overlay or Lightbox.
- This now reveals the second option ? Enable Lightbox. Also enable this one.
- In the Block Editor the video within the pageflow is shown, with the default overlay (purple, 0.5 opacity).
- Save and reload in Frontend.
Expected: When I scroll the page, the video in the pageflow is shown with its first frame and the overlay color (e.g. purple, 0.5 opacity). As soon as I click it it opens in a larger lightbox and autoplays.
Actual: In the pageflow it is just shown as a rectangle with the overlay color, but no video content (of the first frame) at all. When clicking it in the Lightbox it shows and plays correctly.
Workaround attempts — None worked:
- Overlay color cleared entirely. The box color just changes to light grey.
- I added a media fragment #t=0.001 to the video src URL. Did not help either.
Maybe the Lightbox feature is supposed to only work in a video block which has a placeholder image? Mine has NO placeholder image. I had hoped it uses the same video file twice. Once in the pageflow and once in the Lightbox.
Environment:
- Newest: Safari, Chrome, Firefox — Same problem in all
- Greenshift 6.6.2
- WordPress 6.3
- Gutenberg 16.4.0
