Vewry Slow feed

    Hello there.

    I’m facing a very slow issue to generate feed… it takes about 24hrs to complete.
    My ecommerce has a high quatity of products variation… I aleady tried to delete the plugin, deleted the xml files from UPLOAD dir, create new feeds… but everytime I got the same slow issue.

    Recently I’ve changed my host to VULTR, I dont know if it is related.

    Could you please let me know if there is anything else to do?

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Sorry to hear your feed is processing this slow.

    You indeed have above average product numbers, however under normal circumstances it definitely should not take a full day to process your feeds. I suspect there is something going on with your WP-cron or hooks. Our plugin, by default, processes 750 products per batch. Each new batch is triggered by a cron hook the previous batch created when it finished. Normally those batches fire 3 seconds after the last one finished. This process continues all the way till the feed is completely processed.

    Now you can imagine that when you, for example, disable the WP-cron and fire the cron hooks with an external cron every 5 minutes it would already take over an hour just to process your feed. So, the question is: is there anything you did with your WP-cron? Is it controlled by a 3th party performance/security plugin or an external cron?

    Alternatively, you can also experience (plugin) caching issues. Not seeing the processing percentage going up because your page is being cached. So in the background the feed continues processing but you just don’t see it on screen. This should be easily solved by clearing your cache and refresh your browser.

    I have the same problem, my website have more than 2000 product and that take more than 3 hours for create new feed. I’m using Digital Ocean Droplet.

    We have no experience with “Digital Ocean Droplet” so unfortunately we can’t tell if and how that will effect processing of the feed.

    Also, bear in mind that the plugin processes products in batches of 750 products per batch and uses the WP-cron to kick-off follow-up batches. Under normal circumstances the WP-cron kicks-off these batches as soon as the previous one ended. However when it takes three hours for your feed to complete I suspect you or your host have set-up your WP-cron differently or are using an external Unix cron for it?
