• For years, Yoast seemed to be the only (over-complicated) go-to plug-in for SEO & WordPress. However, the whole mystery of SEO has always been a mix of snake-oil myth and real-world content analysis. Yoast seemed to go into the science of the science of the science of whatever SEO is supposed to be and probably thousands, like my myself, wanted something we could use without having to jump into a rabbit hole only to find a further labyrinth of burrows. Enter Rank Math, the antidote to the science of SEO.

If you just want simple help with pointers for keywords when writing content – especially good with Woocommerce – then Rank Math is easy to understand and delivers something understandable very quickly. Sure enough, if you really want to dig deep into the science like Yoast does, you can find all the doors waiting to be opened to ultra-SEO psychobabble. However, I just wanted to create meaningful content which wasn’t over-stuffed with keywords and worked whether the content was 200 words or 1000. Rank Math has certainly blown Yoast out of the water on this one.

    But does it work?

Well, as far as I can see, I have seen a massive improvement in the time-span when newly listed products I create in Woocommerce turn up in search results. Quite surprisingly, I’ve seen this behaviour with well known products which already have strong competition for search result placings and I didn’t think had a chance. This could of course be coincidence, meaning perhaps I am just a really good content-writer and no SEO plug-in is going to make a difference to my style of writing. But my gut feeling is, Rank Math is helping with my keyword density and indicating the best use of keyword volume. Therefore, I would recommend this 100% for simple help with tuning content for keywords.

For a free plug-in, it is superb but for me, I can’t see the need to purchase the premium version. Now that is not because I believe it isn’t needed, it is simply because I am not an ‘SEO jockey’. There could be people who really get into the depths of SEO and are swamped by the ever changing and confusing Yoast environment. If so, then this could be the premium Yoast replacement product they have been waiting for.

I conclusion, if Rank Math can help an idiot like me, I suspect it could be a mighty weapon in the hands of someone who has devoted a lot of time to learning SEO.
