I use it in combination with plug-in User menu.
Simple Page Access Restriction replaces a very old plugin Simple Access Control, which had an optional 404 page redirect.
Maybe add this optional 404 redirect page to your plug-in saying “You must be logged in to view this page…” i.s.o the standard message “Page not found.” Try it out with Simple Access Control, but this gives php errors and isn’t support anymore. Hence you great replacement.
