• Hey there all,

I’ve scoured the net for hours now, and cannot find an issue to this problem I’m having.

First off, I’ve tried to use various social media plugins and that hasn’t done a thing either…on to the issue.

Basically I am using arbitrary text in my sidebar and creating my own social media icons. I’ve looked over the code a hundred times and it is fine. In fact, one icon does appear – the twitter icon. However, I cannot get any of the other social media icons to appear, yet they are all in the same directory as twitter, and the code again is perfect. I can copy and paste the twitter icon code a hundred times, and the icon will show up a hundred times, yet if I try to put in one for FB or what have you, they refuse to show up. I’ve noticed this on two websites I’m currently working on. I’ve cleared cache, tried different browsers, etc to no avail. There is nothing showing up when I hover where one of said icons should be.

Take a look here and see if you all understand this. I’m completely baffled and have no idea what the issue is.

    Here is a URL – https://recycledactivewear.com/\

Hopefully I posted this in the right forum, and I thank anyone and everyone in advance for any help you may be able to lend.

    Cheers

  • I see the FB one. But are you uploading these to the media library? Try that and then use the absolute URL for that image in the widget code.

Thanks, I will give it a shot! (where exactly is the media directory? hehe)

In the Dashboard, click on Media and then under that Add New – that opens a screen where you can upload the images.

Once they are in there, for each one, you’ll on the right side of the screen, a field “File URL” – copy and paste that URL into your widget code.

Ok, so I have done everything in my power thus far to fix this issue, and it seems it is on my end. I wiped out everything in all of my browsers, and was finally able to pull it up in chrome and IE, yet no matter what I do with FF it still doesn’t show on my end, but for others using FF it does. I have had this issue with favicons as well before, perhaps I am just not clearing out my FF cache correctly.

    Thanks for your help!

    This might help:

Or try reinstalling FF if it’s misbehaving.
