So I am running nginx and have run into some very strange behavior with the plugin…

I am also using MU Multi-Domain Mapping plugin for my network mapping…

My first problem was that every time i tried to click to enable the firewall for a sub site I would be taken to a page that said I do not have privileges to do this… No matter what chmod values I was using it seemed… It was wired too because the first two sites had the firewall switch enabled in the dashboard and the second two did not and when I would click the link to enable them I got the error… But maybe this is normal? My only thought was maybe it was like this because from the master site I can set all the firewall rules…

But then I started mapping my sub domain using the plug in above and was getting all sorts of redirect errors… So i disabled the plugin and checked to see if mapping worked… It did ?? So then I re-enabled the AIO security plugin and turned off all the firewalls and used the firewall reset for the master site… Was planning on just using login lock down then… Everything seems to be working perfectly… However all the sub sites now have the basic firewall switch on even though i had disabled all that…

I am also using version 3.7.3 because the new version breaks the customizer for some of my themes ??

Its so strange that the firewall is off on my master site but on for all sub sites and my master site gets a score of 70 while all sub sites get a score of 180..

    Thanks for any help…

Hi Action Turtle in regards to nginx please read the following URL.

In regards to your WordPress version 3.7.3, this is very insecure and you are liable to get hacked. Before going any further if it was my website I would do what I could to upgrade to the latest stable version 3.9.1.

    Kind regards

Yea also tried to use the brute force prevention… the re-direct for the login page to be different then /wp-admin it went nuts and did not work… But capta for login and password reset page works ??

Very excited for when the features are working ??

Is there a place where nginx users should be reporting bugs?

Like just checked and captcha works for main site when enabled in brute force but it does not work for sub sites…

Would be so sweet if I enabled that and set the login page to be different and it worked for main site all sub sites in the network… maybe would not work if you did subfolder method but should work for sub site…

    Thanks

Hi sorry for misunderstand what version you were referring too ??

In regards to your comment below…

I am also using version 3.7.3 because the new version breaks the customizer for some of my themes ??

You might want to check your themes developers and share with them what is happening with the theme and this plugin. This plugin only uses code that complies with WordPress standards.

I hope this helps you further.

    Kind regards

well when i use version 3.7.6 of the AIO security certain themes customizer function breaks but if I roll back to an older version 3.7.3 the customizer works… so somewhere in the upgrade a bit of code does not play nice with WP 3.9.1

Hi Action Turtle can you try one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Thirteen. Let me know how you go.

    Thank you
