Very slow loading times

    Love the plugin – it has been very good for us.
    However, we are experiencing a major slowdown lately.
    What could I try to check first to figure out where the slowdown is occurring? I tried going to only 1 album in the collection (we had about 30), but that only helped a little bit. Sometimes the gallery will not load at all, sometimes the lightbox won’t pop up at all – I assume due to slow loading times. It is very erratic and hard to reproduce, but always pretty slow.

    This is a bit surprising – this is the second issue I am seeing related to Flickr in the past few weeks. While I am positive I haven’t changed anything in the back-end, I was wondering if you can bump down a few versions (e.g. 1.53 or 1.54) and see if things improve. That can help me track things down.

    rolling back to 1.52 didn’t help anything. I went all the way back to 1.44 but that didn’t work at all – it loaded fast but there were no galleries…I’m guessing this is before the collections support.

    No – collections support has been around since version 1.00 of the plugin (in fact, it was one of the distinguishing features of Photonic).

    Since it didn’t help to downgrade versions, I guess the only thing I can think of is that something changed in WP 4.4.2, which is causing this behaviour. Let me troubleshoot this further.
