    hi there,

i am really confused about the very slow loading time for my category sites and my product sites. in fact i checked the google pagespeedinsights score and this should be fine for desktop 99 and mobile in between 80-90. other webshops have lower performance ratings but the productsites load much faster on first visit. after first visit everything is fine in my shop, because of chache. but i want to get fast loading product and category sites at first visit too. why there is a huge difference between pagespeedinsights rating and real experience? my category site are selectable on the left of the shop site.

  • Hi @grunblatt, thanks for reaching out.

It seems you are experiencing a slow loading time for product categories and product sites. Just to understand the issue further, do you remember making any changes before the issue started, such as updating or installing plugin(s)?

Also, does this occur when all plugins are deactivated?except for WooCommerce, and the theme temporarily switched to a default theme like Storefront?

If you have not yet tested this, can you please do this as a next step and let us know the outcome? Sometimes, conflicts between plugins or themes can impact the performance of your site

You can read more about how to perform a conflict test here:

The best way to perform these checks is on a staging environment. This is a clone of your live site where you can test updates and changes without affecting your live site. This can be done using the free?WP Staging?plugin.

Let us know how it goes.

i tried out and all works fine until i activate the LiteSpeedCache Plugin. Strange that an optimization plugin slows down my site BUT with active Plugin my PageSpeedInsights Score is significant higher. Is there an explanation? i dont use othe cache or optimization plugins.

    Hi @grunblatt,

There are a few possible reasons why the LiteSpeed Cache Plugin might be slowing down your site, such as:

    • The plugin settings are not optimized for your site configuration
    • The plugin is conflicting with other plugins or themes on your site
    • The plugin is caching too much or too little data on your site

To troubleshoot this issue, I suggest you try the following steps:

    • Remove and add the plugin again. This will ensure that the plugin files are updated and installed correctly.
    • Check the plugin documentation and make sure that you have configured the plugin settings according to your site needs. You can find the documentation here.
    • Test your site speed with and without the plugin activated using a tool like GTmetrix or Pingdom. This will help you identify if the plugin is actually improving or worsening your site performance.
    • Disable other plugins and themes on your site and see if the issue persists. This will help you isolate the source of the conflict and find a compatible solution.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is best to contact the plugin developer support directly. They will be able to provide you with more specific and technical assistance. You can use this link to reach them.

I hope this helps you solve the problem and improve your site speed. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for choosing WooCommerce and have a great day! ??
