• Hey everyone,

I can’t wrap my brain around what’s wrong.

    Site: SaneFitnessHK.com

Problem: According to Pingdom, it takes 17 seconds to load my site. I’ve tried everything I could think of.

According to the test, there are a few elements that take up 5-9 seconds. If anyone could give any advice on what to do, that would be greatly appreciated.

A simple explanation and instructions would be greatly appreciated!

    Things I’ve already tried/done:
    – Installed W3 Total Cache properly but can’t use because there is a problem with styling of the site.
    – Asked host to increase WP memory limit (still at 40mb)
    – Minimized size of photos as much as we could
    – Removed all unnecessary plugins

  • Hi,

Try to disable all plugin and do test, then also change to default WP theme and wil see. If still so slow after all this, good idea is to contact/change your hosting provider.
Btw. is site so slowly from beginning or it just happned sometime?

    Hey Peter,

Firstly, thank you for your reply. I’ll try them out and let you know how it goes.

I think the site got slow after the site was put all together.

We’re using Host Gator, so I don’t think it’s the hosting.

Will update you later on with your suggestions, thanks again!

Here’s another analysis we took from Google’s PageSpeed.

    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=sanefitnesshk.com&tab=desktop

Will have our developer look at it and see what can be done. But in the mean time, if you guys find any immediate remedies, please let us know!

    Thanks!

I looked at your site in Pingdom, and what seems to happen is that the page takes forver to generate (6 seconds or so).
    https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cMa0AH/https://sanefitnesshk.com/

You seem to have about 100-150 pages on the site

If you don’t have a caching plug-in installed, try WP-SuperCache. Install, activate, and while it may take 6sec the first time, subsequent loads will be stored on disk, and much faster — retry pingdom again then.

If it works, the first connection to https://sanefitnesshk.com/ should go from 6sec down to 0.5sec or something like that.

Now, that just “hides” the slowness of your site, but from the outside, I can’t tell much more.

    Good luck!

    I forgot:

Pingdom also shows that something is using Admin-Ajax to request even more data, thus pushing the load time from 6 seconds for the initial page to 12 seconds. I’m guessing that a plug-in or widget is querying for a bunch of posts/pages

Finally, Google Page Speed won’t really help you because it focuses on front-end performance, while you seem to have a back-end (server/wordpress) performance issue.

If you are using woocommerce, you may want search other threads about performance and that plugin. Many people mention exactly what I’m seeing here…
