I am using the free version of Virtue on WordPress 3.8.1 and the back end of the site is running very slow. I have contacted my hosing provider who tells me nothing is wrong on their end. This was happening before I ever installed any plugins while I was trying to decide if I liked the theme. As a result some of the functions, like changing type fonts do not work properly because things time out before they save. I’ve been able to work around that but it is still frustrating how slow it is to work behind the scenes.

It is slow just going from one page to another in addition to trying to save and publish.

    Can you suggest any resolution?

This probably means your server has a really low php memory limit. This theme (because of all the options) requires a decent hosting provider, doesn’t need to be great but if it’s that slow and everything runs that slow with your plugins deactivated then it seems your host is not in the class of decent. It could be just a mater of changing your php settings, like increasing your max timeout and max memory in the php.ini file. Most “decent” hosts will help you do this as part of basic support, but there are tutorials out there that can help. To really get an idea can you tell me what your current php settings are? and which version of php you are using?
