• Props to the developer: it’s simple on the outside, and solid on the inside. I did look at the code, it’s very well organized and shouldn’t cause any issue down the road.
Makes the dev work dead easy, and the user experience is really good too.
Being able to localize or customize the error messages and field labels would be a plus, though. But that’s the only options i would add, as this is one quality of this plugin: works out of the box.

  • Hi pixeline,

Thanks for your review. The plugin can be localised.
The following languages are now available:

    Danish
    German
    Spanish
    Finish
    French
    Italian
    Portugese (European)
    Swedish

This list is growing all the time. Polish is currently being compiled plus two others in the pipe line.

As you say, it works out of the box (many plugins I have installed don’t), so customisation was kept to a minimum, for many reasons, ease of use, ease of installation and ease of maintenance :).

    Great!
What would you suggest would be the best way to modify the error / notice messages? Basically, all feedback messages thrown at our users? Modifying the english localisation file?

Yes you can do it by modifying the english translation file.

Create a file called cleanandsimple-en_GB.po (copied from cleanandsimple.pot).

Fill in empty msgstr strings with your version. You only need to fill in the ones you want to change.

Compile to cleanandsimple-en_GB.mo. I use msgfmt utility on ubuntu but you should be able to use poedit.net as well.

The default language for wordpress is en_US so if you are using that rename your translation files accordingly.

This is a bit of a hack of course but it should work.

Can you send me your url when done, I would like to see it!
