Been using sliders and wordpress for over a decade and was “forced” to use this slider on an existing website but man does it feel/work poor.
when i change an image (not the background) for example for a different one in the exact same color it removes all previous settings, the order of the layers and the option to adjust its postion.
sometimes i can easily swipe the image position, other times only up/down but not left/right, other times i get the option only to use paddings instead of changing its postion with the dots in the corners/sides.
this is just one example of one element… it feels like roulette instead of a proper working plugin.
i can move the position of text elements by just selecting that layer but this does not work for images? XD
One week has passed and we still haven’t received any feedback from you on this matter.
As Robert mentioned earlier, your core problem was that, the person who originally built your slider most likely mixed Absolute and Default position – which depending on the use case, could be a bad practice by the way, since like we mention always, Absolute position is rather for decoration:
while Default position is for content. These two editing modes have different settings and purpose.
From what you wrote earlier you shouldn’t have started with a review, as it is clear that you are not familiar with even the basics of Smart Slider 3, yet, so this is rather a support topic.
By the way, since you told you were “forced” to use our slider, I assume you took over the website from somebody else. If that person built something bad, or something too advanced for your understanding, why do you blame the plugin? Instead why don’t you try to get in touch with the person who built your slider or at least contact us in the first place? Since if you have usage specific questions or problems, the developers of the plugin are always happy to help.
In case of Smart Slider 3, you can open a support topic here:
Please note that, a review should be submitted only after you familiarized yourself with the plugin. As the <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>purpose of a review is to provide valuable information for other people who might try the plugin someday in the future</span>. Your “review” doesn’t really contain any useful information that helps others in making informed decisions. You are just describing some problems, that you could have solved easily if you checked at least our “How to Use” tutorial videos, or if you contacted us over the ticket system.
To the mods: Since this isn’t a review but a support topic connected to some basic features, could you either remove this or change it to a support topic, please?

No, that will not happen and there is no reason at all to.
The person left their feedback.
You replied.
The End.
You do not get to make this a support topic simply because that’s what you want. They have not replied and nothing in their review indicates that they are going to or that they want to get support here.
Do not @ ping the user in this review. They left their feedback and that was a week ago.
I requested the modification / deletion of this topic solely because other moderators typically encourage users to contact the support team of the given plugin when the review is, in fact, a support-related matter, as is the case here.
My problem is not the 2 stars – since if somebody submits a bad review that can contribute to the development of the plugin that is completely fine. But a review based on inaccurate or false claims does not provide any valuable insights and should not reflect the true value of the plugin or the value of the support service, especially if they didn’t even try to contact the support.
I hope you understand what I meant. Anyways I have moved on already, I just wanted to clear this.

I already explained this is not a support ask or topic. I wrote this part.
They have not replied and nothing in their review indicates that they are going to or that they want to get support here.
Acting like it’s a support topic when it’s not is incorrect. Though I am glad to read that you’ve moved on.
I was struck by the unprofessional, rude tone of your response to the technical support staff at Smart Slider. I benefit greatly from accurate reviews, and the review is indeed of a technical support nature and not a meaningful review of the product.
I have no affiliation with Smart Slider. I run a small site called Good Human Habitat. This said, I’ve found the staff at Smart Slider to be incredibly helpful, and professional. In contrast, your treatment of their support staff smacks of a small amount of power (as a WordPress moderator) manifesting as unpleasant, and corrosive to the aims of an open-source platform like WordPress.
I was so struck by your rude tone in the thread above that I did a bit of Googling and learned that you’ve got a negative reputation for condescending unhelpful responses. My public-facing request to you is to think more carefully about your responses to individuals.
I am not interested in some inane discussion on this thread so responding would be a waste of time. I would ask that you simply demonstrate more professionalism and respect to others going forward.
