    Hi,

I’ve created a webshop with posters for a client. But something strange seems to happen when I enable Tax in the Woocommerce settings.

The prices for the order are all over the place, and doesn’t really make sense. I’ve tried to figure out a pattern, but with no luck.

So, just to take you through the confusion (in the linked imaged —> https://by-kvist.dk/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Skaermbillede-2023-01-09-kl.-22.56.58.png).

First of all, the Tax in Denmark is set to 25%.

    – This product is at a discount for 41 DKK (which is correctly stated next to “Discounted Price).
    – But then, in the “Cost” column, it has 47 DKK as amount.
    – And then, in the next column, the “Total” is set to 29 DKK.
    – And lastly, the Tax is calculated to 8 DKK (which is the correct Tax for a product costing 41 DKK).

Moving on the the Shipping line.
    – In total it states “0 DKK”. This amount should be 31 (ex. tax). I’ve set the Shipping cost in Woocommerce settings to be 31. Further down, you can actually see that the “31 DKK” is applied to the final price. But weirdly not in the Shipping line. But the tax of “8 DKK” is listed on the line (which is correct).

The last part of the screenshot, is the subtotal and total. The confusion continues here.

It states that a discount on “14 DKK” has been applied, even though it says “18 DKK” further up in the product line.

Overall, the final price on “80 DKK” is correct. And the invoice the customer is receiving, is also showing the correct amount, tax and discounts. It’s only in this view it’s completely confusing. And this needs to be right, as this is what is transfered to our billing system.

Also, I can add, that the following settings is applied in Woocommerce settings under Tax:
    – Automated taxes: Disabled
    – Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax
    – Shipping tax class: Standard (25%)
    – Display prices in the shop: Including Tax
    – Display prices during cart and checkout: Including Tax
    – Display tax totals: As a single total

Really hope some of you can help me out here, before going completely nuts and grey haired ??

    It’s highly appreciated!

  • Divi has issued several updates since the version used by your site. That’s a lot of bug fixes. I don’t know if any are relevant to your issue, but updating your theme would be somewhere to start.

Thanks for answering. Sure, the Divi theme should have been updated. Just did that, but the issue is still present. But thanks for reminding me.

    Hi @madsenfc

    Thanks for reaching out!

Just to confirm that the screenshot here is what you see under WooCommerce > Orders, correct?

Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Let us know how it goes!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
