Very nice plugin, but lacks info
-
I have quite a few WordPress websites which I am the administrator of. Mostly non-profit or small businesses. I use the free version because there is no way I can afford a suitable plan. I would have given 5/5 if the plugin was somewhat more informative about where a supposed hack is. I would pay for that information actually, but not as much as they are asking.
What does the free version get you?
Regular scans of WordPress files. A nice overview of your websites and needed updates and problems. Including plugins that are known to be vulnerable. Also SSO login to your websites.
What does the free version does NOT get you?
Once ‘hacked’ you are basically on your own. My sites have been ‘hacked’ a dozen times by now, or so Malcare claimed. Only once I was properly hacked.
I have not been able to pinpoint each and every false-positive. But most of the time its data of other security plugins that trigger Malcare. I have seen it with BruteProtect and with Advanced iFrame . To find this it takes trial and error, hard because you only have 10 sync’s per 24 hours.
When you keep your site clean, use known and regularly updated plugins you’ll get a long way with this plugin.
