Very Impressed

After SweetCaptcha began adding spam ads to the sites i work with, I needed a new captcha solution quickly. I went through a bunch and all were missing support for something or had issues.

This is when I ran into Goodbye Captcha. As it addressed everything I needed plus more, I decided to give it a try. Really impressed.

Not only does it do away with the need for people to go through the Captcha process to register, comment, or do forms, it also is very effective and has a great reporting section to show what its blocking and from where.

Unlike the latest Google recaptcha, it doesn’t need an API connection or a lot of external traffic. Or a custom solution.

Currently, the Goodbye Contact Form 7 module is in Beta testing. You just have to email the developer and he’ll send it to you. It’s straightforward to add and then shows up in the main interface to switch on.

I had to clear the cache on one site to get rid of Sweet but otherwise the change was seemless and the developer checked the sites to ensure the beta module was functional.

On one of the sites, they get a LOT of spam registrations. Reporting showed Goodbye had blocked 52 fake registration attempts and 4 CF7 attempts in just a few hours. On another site, it was blocking more fake comments. None had gotten through.

This is much superior to the usual captcha solutions. It’s not a barrier to feedback, to the visually impaired, or to the math impaired. It does the work instead of the reader.
