• I have two posts that always show up as the top two in your plug-in results, every day getting dozens of hits or more, but in Google Analytics they show for one month what Top-10 is showing for one day. The GA results match what I see in my Mediavine dashboard too. Why would Top-10 be showing such higher results and if they’re legit, why only there and not the other two places? Here’s what I pulled up this morning when logging in. It’s the first two here.

The Hotel Zones of Tampa Bay (13)
Where to Stay at Clearwater Beach, Florida (10)
Best Boutique Hotels in Mexico City’s Roma and Condesa Neighborhoods (6)
Hotel Port-Royal: Quebec City Suites and a Royal Residence (5)
    About Hotel Scoop (4)
Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach in Cancun: Upscale on a Large Scale (4)
The Riviera Maya Hotel Zones: Where to Stay (4)`

One reason could be that the plugin tracks any page load while GA and others are likely tracking uniques. Another thing off late is that a lot of browsers block tracking scripts which has an effect on what you’ll see in GA and others.

Note that the plugin isn’t designed for analytics. It’s a simple means to track popular posts and display them to users.

No, neither of those excuses seems to be correct in this case. I’m not asking it to be my analytics program. I’m just wondering why it’s continually giving false positives on two particular posts and not any others. It’s a factor of 10 going back for two months now, so it’s not an isolated incident. Because of this, the ranking from your plug-in does not seem to be a reflection of the most popular posts, which is the whole point of having one of these on the site. If this is all you can come up with, let me know and I’ll switch to one I have on another site that is showing an almost exact match of what’s coming out of GA. They don’t seem to be having a problem with tracking script interference.

I don’t think I’ll be able to resolve this issue. Given that you’ve already got an alternative plugin, would suggest you using that one instead of this.
