I had a hell of a time getting this to work (finally did, though I don’t really understand how…)

This plugin lacks some intuitiveness. I would recommend making it simple per user/role. Hide page <-> Don’t Hide Page. No need for these scaling parental roles, unless it’s an advanced feature. I just wanted certain users to not be allowed to view a ticket system (Member role) while admins could see it fully.

I somehow got it to work by listing the areas/pages/posts in the “admin” group, and then adding ALL OTHER pages to the “member” group, and added an extension to “admin.” This worked, but it still doesn’t make much sense to me.

Thanks for the work on the plugin. Since it does seem to work, I can’t give you a bad review, but I’d love to see some ease-of-use issues addressed.

Thank you for your detailed, honest review and for opening this thread to address the problems you are facing. You are not the first one saying the UI might be confusing, and I do agree that there is still room for improvements and that documentation/usage guides should be better.

With that said, I do want the plugin to be “advanced” yet still easy to use. There are lots of plugins out there with simple per page restrictions whereas this plugin is the only of its kind that offers restrictions on contexts.

For your use case, it should not be necessary to create two Levels. Your Admin Level ought to be enough as it will make sure only Admins have access to the selected content.

If you have any suggestions on how to make the UI easier to understand or if any descriptions/text should be worded differently, please let me know.
