This plugin presents a standalone page with it’s own independent image uploader and to link images to URL’s, you have to manually enter an absolute URL (so if any URL’s on your site change – or your domain changes, you’d have to manually edit these images in the scroller one by one).

It does not integrate into WordPress at all, the only aspect it uses of WordPress is that it creates a shortcode for you to use.

  • A bit excessive critic, taking in consideration the plugin does what it says. Or does it not?

I mean, I agree with you a good plugin should extend WordPress using core functionality and UI whenever possible.

But we shouldn’t forget this is an attempt to help others, I’m more interested to know if it triggers any errors or imcompatibilities with other plugins and such. And if it works.

Given that the original poster didn’t attempt to start any form of dialogue with the plugin’s developer, I’d argue that his review is pretty pointless. You may get a better idea of the plugin’s performance by browsing its support forum.
