Sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the plugin. I’d be happy to check your setup if you wish. Maybe you’re doing performance testing while logged in, with the admin bar active?
When you refer to the plugin slowing down your site what tools are you using to check performance? Site Kit provides the ability to implement Google services on a users site however performance wise this is no different to manually inserting the Google service snippets. Site Kit is primarily an admin panel operated panel.
