Vertical thumbnails

  • Hi,
    My website has Storefront theme. I have two issues with the thumbnails. First, they generally appear horizontally below the main picture. However sometimes, all of a sudden, they appear vertically. This happens only when I edit the product page, fortunately it does not happen when I view the page. Yet it is problematic for the building of the page. Second, the space between the thumbnails is very large, whereas it is set as the minimum. I would like to put them much closer.
    Can anyone help me on these two problems please?

    Thank you very much for your reply. I finally changed the theme for Ocean WP, which corresponds better to my needs.
