    Hello,

I’d like to enable a vertically scrollable table like one I found on this site: https://www.unavco.org/community/unavco-membership/

I’ve seen in other threads to just add datatables_scrolly=100px to the shortcode and it doesn’t seem to work. I also saw that you need to add DataTables JS Library? I’m not sure how to add that but I thought it was already included.

    Thank you

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Normally, adding datatables_scrolly=100px to the Shortcode should indeed be enough – if the “Use DataTables” checkbox is checked on the table’s “Edit” screen. Can you please check that? (The checkboxes for the individual features, like search and sorting, can be turned off, if they are not needed.)

If that still does not work, can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello,

I was able to get it to work, I had the fixed header extension on but when I deactivated it, it started working. Thanks!

I do have one additional question though, is there a limit to tablepress tables? I have data with more than 9500 rows and it keeps saying invalid data when I try and import it

    Thank you

    Hi,

good to hear that it worked!

As for the size: There’s no limt in theory, but in practice, server ressources might be a restriction. In your case, my guess is that the webserver or PHP configuration impose limits on things like the maximum file upload size or things like “HTTP_POST_MAX_VARS” and such configuration variables.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing that I can do about that in TablePress, you would have to try to find out more e.g. from the server error log files, maybe with the help of the server administrator or the web host company’s support team.

    Regards,
    Tobias
