    I have almost 2000 citations in my zotero library, but I have tried to import them into zotpress, it didn’t work at all. All collections had been imported successfully, but none of citations were imported, so I cannot choose any citation item when I am writing a post.

    Reinstall the zotpress plugin didn’t work either. Help!

    I suspect this is due to server memory limitations, which at least one other user is encountering (these limits vary across servers — for instance, even though I have well over 2000 items in my library, I’m not experiencing any problems with the script). I will be experimenting with different import script designs to tackle this. If you have access, it would be great to see what your error logs say, if anything. Feel free to post here or send me an email: https://katieseaborn.com/contact

    I am having the same issue with only 26 items in my library. I’m on a shared server provided by dreamhost.

    @baldmichael Hmm, then I don’t think it’s a memory issue in your case. Can you contact me with more details? https://katieseaborn.com/contact

    I’m having the same problem. I successfully created user accounts but was unable to sync/import any of them. The icon just seems to stay stalled on the syncing mode.

    Are both the sync and import features not working? Or just one of them? Also, feel free to contact me if you’d like me to troubleshoot your setup.

    Both of them are not working for me. I have 2 references in one of my accounts that I’m trying to sync right now.

    I have the same problem. Neither sync nor import is not working in 5.0.3.

    I upgraded from Zotpress 4.5.4 to 5.0.2 and then to 5.0.3. Because of problems with shortcode parameters after the upgrade (style, etc. didn’t have any effect), I decided to drop the Zotpress-related database tables. After re-activating the plugin and adding an Zotero account, Zotpress would not create new database tables. Also, the API page on Zotero.org would not indicate any communication with a client.

    Therefore, I downgraded to 4.5.4, added my Zotero account and imported the library. Database tables were created and everything worked as before in 4.5.4.

    At least in my case, the 5.0.3 scripts cannot create the database tables for Zotpress.

    PS
    I’m using WP 3.5 and have > 2000 entries in my library.

    Thanks for your great plugin!

    Very odd. Can you both contact me privately? In this case it’s difficult to troubleshoot without seeing what’s going on firsthand.

    Hi there — I also have a previously-working installation of ZotPress, and recently upgraded WP to 3.5 and ZP to 5.x (currently on 5.0.3). The import process in early versions of 5.0 just kind of ran forever without any results; 5.0.3 pops up a javascript alert saying “Sorry, but there was a problem importing items: ” (nothing after that, unfortunately…)

    I’d be glad to send along any logs that might be helpful in the process…

    thanks again for a great plugin!

    Everyone, please check out the 5.0.4 release. It’s working for at least two users, and I hope it will resolve these issues for all of you. Feel free to re-open this thread if you’re still experiencing difficulties importing or syncing.

    @katie

    Version 5.0.4 works perfectly now! The entire library has been successfully imported now! But I have a question, version 4.5.4 has a nice toolbox when writing a post, that is, I can generate the shortcode quickly by simply click those buttons. However, version 5.0.4 doesn’t have a toolbox like this, does it mean that I have to type the shortcode by myself and find the citation item key manually in the setting page of zotpress (or, by typing key words in the search box to find the item key)?

    Again, thanks a lot for providing such a wonderful plugin!

    @qianhaoqi The Zotpress Reference widget should be there, although redesigned with an autocomplete feature. If you don’t see it, perhaps check the “Screen Options” tab at the top-right of the post add/edit screens.

    @katie

    Aha, I can see the Zotpress Reference widget now, but it looks quite differently from what it was in version 4.5.4.

    Anyway, I will get used to its new feature, maybe it will be more convenient than the old one. ^.^

    @qianhaoqi I hope so! I’m certainly open to feedback, too.

    @katie

    Yes, importing works with 5.0.4. I still have problems with some shortcode parameters, but I’ll open another thread for that.

    Thanks!
