Version for WP 3.4.2?

    Hello!

    I love your plugin! It is awesome. I am using it on quite a few websites. Recently a customer of mine (with version 3.4.2 of WP) contacted me about putting a slideshow up for them. I am reluctant to update their wordpress to the latest version for many reasons.

    When I installed the slideshow plugin, and clicked the insert image slide button nothing happened. Is there an older version of this plugin that I can install that would be compatible with this older WordPress?

    Hello georgia.d.davenport, for security reasons it would not be wise to go back to an earlier version of the plugin. I would strongly encourage the upgrade to the latest WordPress version and install this version of the plugin.

    I know that sometimes upgrading from such an earlier version can cause problems.

    These are my suggestions:

    1) Create a backup first(must do)
    2) Find out all the current plugins installed in the website and check to see if they have updates that are compatible with the latest WordPress version.
    3) Do the same with the Theme.
    4) Once you are happy with the above, upgrade the latest WordPress version.(Note if some plugins are not compatible with the latest WordPress version then disable them before you upgrade)
    5) Start upgrading the plugins one by one to avoid a conflicts with either plugins, theme or WordPress.
    6) Carry out a thorough test of the website to make sure that it functions well from the backend and the front end.

    If everything goes well you will be a very happy person.

    Hi Georgia,

    From a website security point of view I would strongly recommend to go with mbrsolution’s advice to update your site so that the latest version of the slideshow plugin works with your website.

    However, if you really can’t update your website you can download version 2.2.11 here, which should be compatible with WordPress 3.4.2.

    When using version 2.2.11 of the slideshow plugin you may be vulnerable to XSS attacks.
