I believe I can supply an example – something I discovered today:
This error was being generated by NexGen Gallery, starting the day after the last update to Plugin Organizer (Nov. 29)
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_type_list() on null in /home/(redacted client account)/public_html/(client site subfolder)/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/fs/package.module.fs.php on line 195
The error was making the admin mostly not accessible – I could get in by renaming the NextGen folder only. But it seemed odd that NextGen was the real cause, as I haven’t had many issues with it. They did just release a patch for it for PHP 7 issues, but this site is on PHP 5.6.32.
I can toggle the site between Plugin Organizer on and off, and break it consistently when it’s on. One other piece of info is that NextGen is also using Next Gen Plus – so was wondering if the fact that it has two plugins that work together was causing the issue. Unfortunately, I can’t activate Plugin Organizer to test that theory.
