Version 6.1.2 is live!

  • Greetings all. In addition to launching Wordfence 6.1.1 today we have released 6.1.2 which address a minor issue that was reported with IPv6 and range blocking. Please update at your earliest convenience. A summary of the new features in 6.1.1 and the fix in 6.1.2 are below.

    • Enhancement: Added Web Application Firewall (in 6.1.1)
    • Enhancement: Added Diagnostics page (in 6.1.1)
    • Enhancement: Added new scans:
      * Admins created outside of WordPress (in 6.1.1)
      * Publicly accessible common (database or wp-config.php) backup files(in 6.1.1)
    • Improvement: Updated Live Traffic with filters and to include blocked requests in the feed. (in 6.1.1)
    • Fix: Fixed fatal error when using a whitelisted IPv6 range and connecting with an IPv6 address.

  • I just upfdated to Version 6.1.2
    when i try to edit a page I get a blank screen in the page editor.
    the editor is stuck on text mode and I cant switch to visual mode.

    I disabled wordfence for now untill the problem will be solved by you.

    If I update to this last version an installation in the Sitegroud hosting enviroment and I do not click the “To make your site as secure as possible, take a moment to setup the Wordfence Web Application Firewall: ” Click here to configure buttons

    so Wordfence will continue using the old set up or is totally disabled ?
    As I have more then 10 site hosted there will be too elaborate to follow this tips..

    This plugin was great till my client emailed me this morning that they could not get into their site.

    After some looking into it I renamed the wordfence directory on a dozen of my sites so they would again come up. NOT Impressed with the latest update…

    Not sure what happened but all browser requests gave this error before I disabled Wordfence:

    This site can’t be reached

    The connection was reset.
    ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

    Any ideas?

    FYI, something seems to have gone awry with this update. The contents of my .htaccess were removed although the file was still there. Only the home page would load. All links to other pages resulted in a 404.

    For others that have this issue, I removed the .htaccess file, then reset the permalinks in wp-admin. That got things running again.

    yes all of my wordfence protected sites are broken. manually deleting the plugin fixes the sites, but leaves them unprotected.
