After updating my plug-ins this morning at 8:15 am… I noticed when I logged into my website, it just “spun” waiting to access the dashboard to WP. Calling my hosting provider, we disabled all plugins and were able to access the dashboard. After ACTIVATING the newest WooCommerce plugin update from 8:15 this morning, we lost access to the dashboard… We downloaded the newest version from WooCommerce website and still no luck… WE BELIEVE there is an issue with this mornings Version 5.9.0 and is disabling our access to our dashboard.

We are unable to install a previous version and our commerce site is down… PLEASE ADVISE if anyone has had this issue or if Woo has released a FIX… Thank you… G

  • It’s not a WooCommerce issue, You might have any security plugin installed or any login-related plugin activated.

try the wp-login.php URL to login into the dashboard. then once you’re into goto permalink settings and re-save it.

if you can’t access the dashboard in the above method then enable DEBUG log and see if there is an error coming from any plugin. if there is any error from any plugin then access the files via FTP then rename the plugin folder that gives the problem and then try to login again to access the dashboard.

Thank you for your attempt to help…. however, I disabled all plugins… the only plugin we (server host and I) activated is WooCommerce which triggers the loss of access to the admin dashboard.

We also renamed the plugin in question for various other troubleshooting attempts… installed old version, new version… neither worked.

Restoring website to previous known working site didn’t work…

Everything is pointing to WooCommerce at this point. I will however, turn on debug mode to see what that triggers.

Also, I found this issue was apparently reported ~3 months ago… there was a table in the database that was dropped during update. Restored site to older verson… and all good.

PS Check the memory on your server in case a memory shortage would cause a table drop…
