    Hello,

since the security update to version 5.3.2 all contact form requests on my site get a “spam” response from google recaptcha. Does anyone else have the same problem?

    thanks,

    Heiko

    Hello again Takayuki,

it seems that our problem is solved.

The customer entered a proxy server independently in wp-config.php. Unfortunately, we as web agency do not have access to the server / file system. There’s a subcontractor in between. So I couldn’t check it out myself.

Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for your time and your very quick feedback. Many Thanks. Also for your work on the plugin in general. As a company, we like to use it on almost all customer websites.

    thanks,

    Heiko

I’ve been seeing the same problem across many sites that I manage. I have learned that the error is occurring with google served mail and not with other email servers.

For example, if I submit the contact form from a person with an email [email protected] it works with no error.

if I submit the contact form with [email protected] or even [email protected] then wp_mail cannot properly instantiate. line 135 of wpcf7/includes/mail just fails.

I think that it must be something with the ‘fake’ replyto header that is automatically set to the person who has submitted the form.
