  • I had hide backend activated in versions 3.x.x of BWPS. Upgrading to 4.0.x disabled dashboard access as others have explained here.

I tried upgrading to all versions up to 4.0.12 with no success. So manually installed 3.6.6 and staying there until I switch to something I’m not as afraid of or see here that those running hide backend in 3.x.x can safely upgrade to one of the 4.x.x versions.

Does it work to disable hide backend in 3.6.6, upgrade to 4.0.21, and re-enable hide backend in 4.0.21?

Once I install the plugin I lose access to the wordpress admin area.
Only back to normal when I delete the plugin directly from my server.
Anyone know how to fix this?

It has something to do with being switched to https, I think.

Anyone know if the 404 error on admin is still happening with the newest update? I want to update again but don’t want to go through all the hassle again.

    Getting this error as well.

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, string given in /home/x/public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/modules/free/four-oh-four/class-itsec-four-oh-four.php on line 32

    If anyone is reading these…

Hey is is safe to go back in the water ? In other words are people able to safely upgrade to the newer version ?

I’m a bit confused this big (smart ??) company took over a great working program released 16 different upgrades. Created numerous problems in the process. Not only have they remained silent during the process they are hoping that we will pay money for a better version.

Hey wait now it all makes sense. Create a sh!!!ty product and then sell a better one.

I hope that is not the case and they just didn’t foresee this many problems occurring.
