    Hey

Sorry to relay this but my customers informed me that my ticket sales were broken. I rolled back from version 5.4.4 to version 5.4.3 and that fixed the problem.

The error message was very generic so I can’t provide more info. Two customers received “there is a critical error on this website” when they tried to complete payment. I encountered the same message.

After rolling back I completed a successful payment. I’m grateful I could roll back. However now I’m concerned about updating.

My website is generally up to date. Using WordPress 6.0.1 and Kadence theme.

    Thank you.

    Hi @ms416 ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Would you be willing to switch to a default WordPress theme(e.g. Twenty Twenty) and deactivate other plugins to see if the functionality works as expected?

    Best regards,
    Marta

    Hi there.

Yes I tried that it still doesn’t work. So I have rolled back.

I switched to Twenty Twenty theme and disabled all plugins except Events Calendar and tickets plugins and the payment is still broken.

It says this ” <p>There has been a critical error on this website.</p><p>Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.</p>

Normally critical errors imply complete broken site, but all I see is the warning text above the cart section.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Hi @ms416, thanks for getting back to us here and sharing the findings on your end. That’s definitely weird. You’re right that should be the case for broken sites.

Could you provide the versions of the following?
    1. PHP
    2. WordPress

In the meantime, it would be good if you could revert back to the last working version of the plugin.

I also suspect might be your server configuration is already insufficient, could you try upgrading memory_limit and max_execution_time? And see if that makes a difference.

Lastly, would be good if you could also clear any caching plugin or server-side caching.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi

Yes as I mentioned I rolled back to have it work. ??

You’ve asked for a lot of stuff. I’ll report the following:

    WordPress Version 6.0.1

    Server architecture Linux 2.6.32-954.3.5.lve1.4.87.el6.x86_64 x86_64
    Web server LiteSpeed
PHP version 8.0.22 (Supports 64bit values)

PHP memory limit is 1024M (Seems like lots)
    PHP max input variables 2000
    PHP time limit 1500

By the way I did a fresh WP install with no plugins – only Events Calendar and Events Tickets – only using newest WP and still failed using Version 5.4.4 of your tickets plugin. Same error.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my hosting. I run many sites and it is reliable.

    Thank you.

Hi @ms416, appreciate you providing me with more information here. Seems like your server config is not the issue and yes it is more than enough. ??

I know this is kinda weird but worth checking. Since it is working with the previous version, I’m curious about this. Since you’re using PHP 8, which is still incompatible with our plugins. Could you try downgrading to 7.4 and see if that makes a difference? Please test this in a staging site.

    See the article here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/php-8-support/.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,

Thanks again for all the follow up.

Yes I tried rolling back to PHP 7.4 and it works with that, both on my test site and on my tickets site.

That’s unfortunate that the plugin doesn’t seem compatible with PHP 8.

Appreciate your time! Thanks for making such a great plugin and supporting it so well ??

And yes you can close this at this time. Cheers.
