Version 4.03.06 strips all theme CSS from forms

We have not made any plugin changes that would affect styling, and we have not had any similar reports from other users – so the first step in troubleshooting this would be to clear any cache on your site (From cache/optimization/minify plugins).

Also, could you clear your browser cache, and if you use a service like CloudFlare, could you also clear the cache there and see if that helps.

Another thing to check is on the Formidable > Styles page. Under the “General” tab please ensure that the “Override the styling” checkbox is NOT checked.

@njones35 Thank you for the reply. It turns out we had the “Override the styling” option checked after all. Maybe it hadn’t affected us in earlier versions because of the CSS sanitization bug fixed in this version?

At any rate, that solved the problem – thanks again!

Well, I thought this was resolved, but it seems the effect was temporary.

So, toggling “Override the styling” off fixes the form styles – until I walk away. Then, toggling it back on fixes the form styles – until I walk away.

I assure you that I am clearing cache (server/plugins/browser/hdd) between each step to ensure that I’m loading the very latest version each time. It just randomly decides to break (and then stay broken) until a setting is toggled once again. Frustrating.

Whenever the error starts occurring, the console reports something about receiving a code 400 when trying to load admin-ajax.php

Downgraded to 4.03.05 and everything works perfectly again. This is only a problem in 4.03.06.

If admin-ajax.php is being blocked there is usually either a code clash or a security plugin preventing some Formidable files from being written during install.
